Midtown Home Improvements

Family-Owned & Veteran-Owned Since 1990

Transforming Homes.
Improving Lives.

Veteran-OwnedEst. 1990

Thirty-five years. Five cities. More than 50,000 homeowners who trusted us with their most important investment. We started as a family operation in St. Louis in 1990, and we have grown into something larger — without losing the thing that made us worth trusting in the first place.

Our Story

Built in St. Louis.
Trusted in five cities.

Midtown Home Improvements was founded in 1990 with a single conviction: a homeowner should be able to trust the contractor they let through their front door. That sounds simple. In practice, the remodeling industry has made it harder than it should be. We built our business around proving it was possible anyway.

We started small, taking on projects in the St. Louis metro and building a reputation the only way that works: by doing good work and standing behind it. Word spread. The phone kept ringing. We grew not because we chased scale, but because homeowners in new cities asked us to come. Chicago came next. Then Nashville. Then Kansas City and Atlanta.

Today we operate from five full offices, employ more than 70 people, and have completed projects for over 50,000 families across the Midwest and South. We have won national awards, been named a Best Place to Work three times, and made the Inc. 5000 twice. None of that changed what we are: a family-owned company that takes its responsibility to your home seriously.

Whether you found us in Atlanta or have been calling us in St. Louis for a decade, you are getting the same company. The same standards. The same people who answer when something goes wrong.

Veteran-Owned & Operated

The same discipline that
serves a mission serves your home.

Military service teaches a specific kind of accountability: the kind where showing up matters, where leaving something unfinished isn't an option, and where the people depending on you are counting on you to mean what you say. Those aren't values we aspire to. They are habits our leadership carried out of service and built a company around.

In practice, that means you get an honest estimate the first time. It means our crews show up when they said they would. It means if we run into something unexpected, we call you before we keep going. It means the finished product looks like what we said it would look like.

We were certified by BuyVeteran in 2020. That certification exists to verify what we already were: a company grounded in the values military service demands.

How We Work

Six principles. All of them visible when we're in your home.

Growth Oriented

We treat every project as a chance to do our best work yet. That means staying current on materials, methods, and what matters to homeowners — so the advice we give you today reflects where the industry is, not where it was.

Initiative

We don't wait to be told there's a problem. If our crew spots something on your roof that wasn't in the original scope, you hear about it that day — with options, not surprises.

Dedication

We see projects through. No disappearing after the deposit. No subbing out the hard parts. The same crew that starts your kitchen is the one that finishes it.

Gratitude

We don't take it lightly that homeowners choose us. Thirty-five years in, we still treat every estimate like the first one — because your trust is the thing we never want to take for granted.

Positive Character

Respect for your home is non-negotiable. That means showing up on time, cleaning up at the end of every day, and treating your space the way we'd want someone to treat ours.

Trust

We say what we mean and do what we say. Fixed-price estimates. Honest timelines. If something changes, we tell you before it changes your bill — not after.

Third-Party Recognition

Awards exist so you don't have to take our word for it.

Anyone can say they do good work. These recognitions come from the Inc. editorial team, the St. Louis Business Journal, Angi's independent review verification process, and the organizations that audit workplace quality. They evaluated us. We didn't design the criteria.
