Rooms That Hold Their Temperature
Start with the glass, because that is where most of a window's work happens. The Legacy 365 uses three panes instead of two. The two gaps between them are sealed and filled with argon, a denser gas than air.
Denser gas resists the slow loop of rising and sinking air inside a sealed gap. The Efficient Windows Collaborative explains that filling the space between panes with gas instead of air boosts efficiency by reducing heat loss, because argon and krypton block more heat transfer than air (see its overview of gas fills).
A standard double-pane window gives you one gap. The Legacy 365 gives you two, and you feel the difference at the glass. That second insulating gap helps keep the inside glass closer to room temperature on a cold January evening.
Then come the coatings. Low-E stands for low emissivity: a transparent layer, far too thin to see, that reflects heat instead of passing it through. In cold climates it reflects heat back into the room, and in hot climates the glass does not heat up from outside and pass that heat indoors (Efficient Windows Collaborative, Low-E coatings). Many standard windows carry a single layer. The Legacy 365 carries four, on ClimaGuard® 70 glass.
The result is steadier rooms. The sunny side of the house stops feeling like a different climate from the shaded side.
Designed to Fight Condensation
Fogged edges often start with the spacer. Every insulated glass unit has a spacer, the strip that holds the panes apart and seals the gas inside. Traditional aluminum spacers are metal, and metal carries cold straight to the edge of the glass, which is where condensation forms. The Efficient Windows Collaborative says metal spacer systems let heat and cold pass through easily and risk condensation, while warm-edge systems blend metallic and non-metallic materials and cut condensation (spacer systems).
The Legacy 365 uses the Duralite® non-metallic warm-edge spacer system, designed to reduce condensation and improve thermal performance. It is designed to keep the glass edge closer to the temperature of the rest of the pane. You would never spot that detail in a showroom, but it is exactly where standard windows tend to fog first.
How Does the Legacy 365 Stack Up on U-Factor?
With the featured glass package, the Legacy 365 reaches a U-Factor as low as 0.22, which equals the Northern-zone maximum in ENERGY STAR's Version 7.0 criteria and sits below the maximums for every other zone.
ENERGY STAR sets its maximum allowable U-Factor by climate zone under Version 7.0, which took effect in October 2023. Colder regions carry tighter limits (ENERGY STAR, Key Product Criteria for Residential Windows). The chart below shows where the Legacy 365 lands against each zone's maximum.
A low U-Factor is one number on a spec sheet. What makes it real is that the rest of the window is built to back it up. Low-E layers and argon slow heat moving through the glass. The Duralite® spacer keeps the glass edge from becoming a cold bridge. The foam keeps the frame from becoming one. Heavy-duty weatherstripping keeps air from sneaking around all of it.
A Frame and Sash Built to Stay Square
A triple-pane unit is heavier than a double-pane one, so the structure around the glass has to be stronger. The Legacy 365 uses fiberglass reinforcement throughout key areas of the sash for added strength and stability. Unreinforced vinyl sashes depend on the vinyl alone to carry the weight and to cope with temperature swings, and over the years that can show up as sagging, racking, or corners that no longer close cleanly. The fiberglass reinforcement adds strength and stability exactly where the sash takes the most stress.
The mainframe gets the same attention. Many standard windows use hollow frames, with empty chambers running through them that let heat travel right past the glass. The Legacy 365 fills the mainframe with high-density insulating foam throughout.
Locks That Look Clean and Work Easily
SecureEZ locking hardware pairs streamlined locks with an internal slimline tilt latch. The latch is tucked into the window, not standing proud as a bulky piece of plastic. Standard windows often carry oversized, protruding hardware that catches curtains and collects dust.
Every night when you lock up, the hardware looks sharp, feels solid, and stays out of the way. The hardware is the part of a window your hands touch most, and on the Legacy 365 it matches the quality of the glass.
A Tighter Seal Against Drafts
Air leakage is the amount of air passing through a window, and it is separate from how well the glass insulates. According to the Efficient Windows Collaborative, less air leakage increases comfort, since cold regions avoid cold drafts and warmer climates limit unwanted heat intrusion, and it reduces the load on heating and cooling systems (air leakage).
The Legacy 365 uses heavy-duty weatherstripping and interlocking sashes for a tighter seal. Weatherstripping presses against the frame to block air movement, and interlocking sashes engage where they meet so there is no open gap down the middle. Thin weatherstripping on many standard windows flattens and hardens with age, and that is usually where a drafty window begins.
Only at Midtown, Backed by MI
This is the part that makes the Legacy 365 a big deal. You will not find it at any other company. We designed it side by side with Miter Brands and MI Windows and Doors, bringing what we have learned from 50,000+ projects to the table. It is not a catalog window with our name on it.
MI Windows and Doors supports Midtown's locations through its U.S. manufacturing facilities, engineering, product testing, and vertically integrated manufacturing network. That is real depth behind every unit.
A window this detailed performs as designed when it is set square, sealed correctly, and trimmed out properly. That is the job of our Midtown-certified installers, and it is work our crews take seriously.

A Lifetime Warranty That Covers Glass Breakage and Moves With Your Home
The Legacy 365 comes with a transferable lifetime warranty, including glass breakage. Glass breakage coverage is not a given with every window warranty. With the Legacy 365, it is included. If you sell your home, the warranty can pass to the next owner, which makes your windows a selling point for the next buyer.
Finish the Whole Exterior
Windows work best as part of a complete exterior. Homeowners often pair a window project with our siding and gutters service or an attic insulation assessment, so the whole shell of the home works together. You can see everything we offer on our windows and doors page.
Experience Behind the Window
Midtown Home Improvements is veteran-owned and family-owned, and we have served homeowners since 1990. That is more than 35 years, more than 50,000 completed projects across five markets, and more than 4,145 Google reviews at a 4.3-star average. The Legacy 365 is the newest result of that experience.
